Oldies music fans are

eagerly anticipating the performance of legendary reggae superstar Ken Boothe on a show dubbed 'Memories by the Score' on Saturday at the Ashe Performing Arts centre in the Corporate Area.

"I am looking forward to the event. 'Merritone' disco will be there, big selectors like Neville Wray of KLAS, Captain Colin Hines and Bob Clarke. I will be doing songs such as Everything I Own, Puppet on a String, Train Is Coming and Moving Away. I have a great repertoire of songs that I love to sing but I also will be doing two songs from my album Journey, as well," he said.

Journey was recorded and produced at his Kingston home studio. It was released in October 2013, and features songs such as the lead single Journey and New World Order.

He said that Jamaican fans should try to listen to and appreciate new songs released by artistes instead of gravitating more towards the older songs in the artiste's repertoire.

"Jamaicans need to get more familiar with the new stuff. When I tour Europe and Japan, people know the songs, but here, few people react to the songs. Jamaican fans look to what we are used to, and not the new material. But I still love performing here, this is the root," he said.

Boothe recently completed a tour of Japan.
